A lovely dinner not stolen by any pirates

We caught Pirates of the Caribbean today... It was a LONG (near 3 hours), a little boring but quite entertaining show... As in the special effects etc...

Mas and I agreed that they tried to squeeze too much stuffs in one movie... and there was the case of the poor gibbon/monkey in the show... its cute though ! reminds me of Titus when I was watching it... not that Titus is a monkey though :P

We had dinner at Au Petit Salut (our favourite restaurant) without knowing that it've moved from Holland Village to Harding Road, thank goodness Mas called, wanting to make a reservation then were we informed that the original Au Petit Salut has become a Bistro Petit Salut instead.

So we had a lovely dinner there with me ordering my favourite beef cheeks and Mas ordered a beef tenderloin with white peppercorns (his favourite), escargot and a bottle of wine...

AND Mas told them I'm the birthday girl today to which they prepared a dessert for me !!!! I'll post the pictures, thank goodness they didn't play or sing any birthday song to me... Phew... Else, it would be sooooo embarrassing :P



We like the new place... the atmosphere is soooo good and its pretty romantic there, I would totally recommend this place to anybody who wish to enjoy some lovely time with their loved ones...

I feel so happy and contented today cause I manage to spend the whole day with Mas, just the two of us... Which trust me, is a rare feat...

Hmmmm... what a lovely day :)

Queen for a day !

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah... its my birthday... *does a litle jig*

The girls got me a cupcake tee, my boss got me a pair of sandals.... and Mas got me a pair of ballet slip from Adidas... where he wrapped up the box himself ! lol...

According to him, he basically just ran out of ideas on what to get for me... He was ranting off a list of places that he went to look for my present and finally settled for Adidas @ VivoCity.. lol

OOOOOOOHH....... I'm watching the telly now and Channel 5 is going to show 50 First Days on Vesak Day at 7:30pm.. I just TOTALLY adore that show, its the sweetest show I've ever watched and absolutely touching... The power of luurrvveee.... *croons*

Oops... side-tracked there... Okay, so I've got a new and comfy pair of shoes (Yay !!! Hell to the heels !!!)

And the girls + Mas got me gorgeous cards.... Let me just post some picture up.... He got the card from Prints (http://www.prints-international.com/) ! Its in a lovely shade of pink with ivory and tied with a matching but darker tone of pink ribbon.


I don't know where the girls got the their card from but its cute nonetheless, I love the message though "Queen for a day, then right back to being a Princess !" ... hehehe

Watching Miss Universe now cause I took a day off work cause its my birthday :P

And the girls are ugly... Even Venezuela is ugly... I think the standard for Miss Universe have dropped drastically... Miss Sushi looks ugly too and she has such an exaggerate sway in her walking and other actions... Miss Kimchi looks like she got a fake nose (and what kind of name is Honey Lee ?!?!?!) ...

Prolly there's still a bit of hope for Miss Brazil, as for the rest... They look like some porn actress... with pornish-sounding names too ! I can just imagine Honey Lee acting in a porn show call "Honey's Pot"... LOLOLOLOL...

I knowwwww..... I'm sooooooooo mean... but I couldn't help it :P

Picnic on Thursday !

I'm at Essential Brew (again !) with Tiff and Sheeli discussing our itinerary for this coming Thursday's picnic idea.

Tiff will be making ham+cheese sandwich, spam+egg sandwich, peanut butter+jelly sandwich... Mas and I will be making mashed potato with bacons (not bits, the REAL thing ! *slurps*)

We are in the midst of thinking where to get a cooler box... If anybody has cooler box, please let us know... Thank you !!!! :D

Ooohh... since I'm at it, I might as well do a little food review on Essential Brew...
We had:

• Tiff - Smoked Salmon Spaghetti
• Sheeli - Fish & Chips
• Me - Dory fish pasta

And for drinks, we had:

• Tiff - Lingering Angel
• Sheeli - Lavender Tea (which sucks to the core) & Oolong tea
• Me - Chai tea latte

I just LOVE chai tea... I was quite depressed for a while when Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf stopped their chai tea ice blended and Starbuck's Chai Tea sucks to the max...

Sheeli's lavender tea taste like me drinking my aromatherapy oil... its so wierd ! thanks goodness I never ordered that.

And being a total klutz, I forgotten to take pictures of our food :( Which explain the lack of photos...

Tiff doesn't like her pasta which I don't think it taste good too cause it doesn't look very appealing and the waitress got her order wrongly, she specifically wanted "creamy tomato base" but they got her the tomato base instead.

And being the nice girl that she is (she is trying to reform and we should applaud to that), she manage to forgive the waitress who we think is a trainee... *claps hand*

Ok, the hunt for cooler box continues...

I was so amazed... that such a HUGE pig can actually be alive... But I bet the meat is not good at all cause we chinese believe the bigger an animal is, the more tough its meat would be...

We've got giant squids and giant fish and now giant pigs... And my colleague Tracey told me something interesting today, "Why would they want to catch such a big animal ? What are they going to do with it ?"

Good point ! What would they wanna do with it ? How would they dispose it ? Use it to make pet food ? I wouldn't let Titus eat such byproduct of hunting man !

But still, I wouldn't mind taking a look at such a big animal man... hehehe

And oh, tomorrow is my birthday ! I'm so looking forward to it... I wonder what is my baby gonna get me for my birthday :P

My boss and colleagues celebrated my birthday for me today, which I find it kinda sweet in a way especially since I'm only here for like 3 wks sorta thing...

I'm quite lucky, ain't I ? hehehe...

Finger Food

Met Tiff for a little tea-time sorta thing today over at Essential Brew... Saw Denise Keller looking very cool, I wonder where she got her sunglasses from... It suits her perfectly... Hmmm...

Talking about sunglasses being worn by celebrity... I read somewhere the other day that there is a website call www.seenon.com that features stuffs being worn by celebrity and where to get them. They even know where one can get the scrubs being worn by the actors in Grey's Anatomy. How cool is that ?!?!

So Tiff and I were planning our "Savings Plan"... Calculating how much we're gonna save each month out of our pay etc etc... Okay, actually she's the one thats doodling so much around while I was listening and give her some suggestions cause I've already planned how to save as its one of the stuff I wish to do before the year end : Save !

In fact, its one of my mantras :D

So we were dirt broke and calculated how much we're gonna spend before we order anything... And when we were about to ask for the bill, Tiff came up with this grand plan of hiding the calamari basket somewhere, and thus, they wouldn't charge us... Hahaha...

I told her yeah, thats a good idea and we will tell the people that the ketchup and mayo saucers on the table are just there for fun cause we love to dip our fingers into them and lick it off ... to which Tiff said "its call Finger Food !" .. Geddit ?!? LOL...

Anyway, it was a pretty relaxing afternoon sorta... beside the walking and perspiring...

And I've bought lunch for tomorrow ! Bee Tye Mak in Fishball soup from DoDo... its a microwavable dish that only cost a whopping $1.50 !!! How cheap is that ?!?!?! So yeah, yipee ! I do not have to walk out in the blistering sun tomorrow to get my lunch...

Wooohoo....

Boring Sundays...

Just exactly what does people do on Sundays ?

Shopping ? Hanging out with friends ?

Why would anybody wanna do their shopping on a Sunday ??? I couldn't really grasp the idea of doing shopping on Sunday especially now when GSS is on...

I mean you gotta squeeze with people and risk being molested and scrape/knock by the sharp edge of people's paper bags... On top of that, you get a bit depressed when you see some rich kids walking down the street with Choos and Dior paper bags.

Being envy of others aside, you have to queue for AGES just to pay for your purchase and wait for AGES if you ask a sales personnel some queries...

I'm fine with the kids with Choos and Dior bags but I simply cannot stand those sight where you see a cheena chick with their stupid cheena accent sweet-talking to or being mauled in broad daylight by their sugardaddy while carrying a Louis Vuitton paper bag in hand, and thats not all, they will have a smug look on their face as if saying "HAHAHA, look at me, you stupid singapore girl, i HAVE A Louis Vuitton bag !! nanny-nanny-boo-boo..."

WHAT THE.... I mean give me a break lah... Any Tom, Dick or Harry (male version) and Lucy, Mary or Jane (female version) can also afford the littlest Louis Vuitton item in today's era, it just gotta depend on whether do they want to or not. So owning an item from Louis Vuitton or any of those boutiques is of no big deal at all, seriously.

But since cheena chicks are all such crass people, I bet they wouldn't know such fact.

I've always said having class is more important than being rich, if you're rich but have absolutely no class and get stuck with being crass, even if you carry a Birkin, people would still think that its a fake Birkie. BUT if you have class, even carrying a fake Birkie, people would think that you are carrying a REAL Birkin.

Know what I mean ?

Just like a certain chinese sayings that goes something like, after translation "wearing an Emperor's robe doesnt make you an Emperor".

Hence, I believe that all girls have to be classy and posh and absolutely not like that Ah Lians that you find hanging out at Far East Centre.

Even if you are not very well-to-do (like me) to be materialistic kinda classy, we should carry ourselves with grace and have the proper social etiquette.

I believe with the proper grace and etiquette, one is a notch above others. But that doesn't mean that one cannot indulge in some singlish swearing... lol ...

wah lau weh... I sound so profound today... hahaha

Ok, back to boring Sundays... there is no show on the telly... even cable is boring, I think StarHub should provide us with some satellite TV or something and if we're lucky, we can see ET still trying to locate his family :P

Mas's colleague Peiling won the Class 95's Office Visits to have lunch at Pasta Mania and when he told me that he would be having lunch with FD etc cause of the contest, I thought of joining as well but then when I read through the sorta "criteria"... It stated that I won, I would need to bring 9 of my colleagues to the restaurant and have lunch and when I look around my office, I just spotted the miserable 4 of us... So I guess I cannot join the contest afterall... *sniffs*

Suddenly have cravings for pasta.... I just adore their banana with chocolate dessert pizza....

Spoilt... who me ?!?!

Tiff said I'm spoilt today when I met up with her to have dinner at Ikea today.

Ikea... When I first learned that I would be working near ABC market (Along Jalan Bukit Merah), I was ecstatic that my workplace would be near Ikea so I can have chicken wings and meatballs every single day till I OD on it.. but NOT !

When I seriously started work, I realize that my workplace is VERY far away from Ikea, prolly a 15-20 minutes walk, depend on how fast your walking speed is.

Hell, it itself is even far from the famous ABC market... Trust me, its FAR ! I tried to walk out with my trusted brolly and I nearly MELT and EVAPORATE RIGHT out there ! in broad daylight !!! The scorching sun lately nearly fried my skin and turn it into crisp that can warrant itself against Lay's potato chips.

Humph...

So today I was complaining to Tiff about the distance and the scorching sun and everything else... basically just the stupid distance... the goddamned distance...

And guess what ?!?!?! she was like... "Its not far what ! You're so spoiled !"

I was like... "I'm so NOT spoiled !" ... and she was like... "You're being chauffeured everyday !"

CUT ! CUT ! *snaps director's black-and-white stripey board*

Let me just clarify that for abit, I'm NOT spoiled... even though my dearest of dear boyfriend send and pick me from work everyday (unless either one of us has some function to attend etc) but I do take buses too ! And walked out in blistering heat to eat...

So see ! Tiff totally wronged me !

10 Hermes Birkin in Crocodile Skin...

GASP !!! YES, THATS RIGHT !!! You sooooo did NOT read it wrongly...

I was flipping through today's Urban and they interviewed Jannie Tay aka the Founder of The Hour Glass.

They asked her what was her biggest splurge and she answered with "10 Hermes Birkins in crocodile skins (in different color)... and Salvatore Ferragamo bag (same design, different colors) and as well as Persian carpet that cost SGD$30,000 - SGD$40,000 per piece".

GASP... omg ! omg omg ! I mean ... I would kill to be in her position (minus her stress of handling the company, that is)... hehehe..

I mean theres always a price to pay and if I have to work 10hrs per day but at the end, I can afford to shop like THAT.. I seriously wouldn't mind. You get to be a successful career woman AND a shopaholic, so I find it a good deal :D

But seriously... wow... I was like stunned for 5 minutes there and just visualize myself in her shoe.

But she did clarify that she doesn't splurge like that anymore cause since she've picked up waltz+tango, her life has mellowed down and gone were her power suits (Chanel & YSL pants) and has been replaced with something more laid back.

Which just makes you wonder...
I think when you're around her age (60's), material things just doesn't really matters anymore. Family and loved ones matters most. I guessed prolly its the realization that people do grow old and pass away eventually that makes you wants to cherish whatever that you are having now more.

So Mas and I always agreed that we should pia more when we're still young and then when we're in our 50's and 60's, we can relax more.. He will be monitoring his stock market and I can enjoy a nice pot of tea at Royal Copenhagen on a weekday, have some green tea cakes and chit chat... bitch with Tiff about the youngsters and shopping ! :D

Which spurs me to stop skiving and work again... hahaha

Paper Cuts = Menace ?

Do you agree with me that paper cuts or cupboard box cuts are a menace ?

In a span of 7 days, I've suffered 3 major cuts by a cupboard box while packing some goods in the office. (We sooooo need a storeman !!!)

Never underestimate papers/cupboard box cause they do cut deep !! and I've got proof for it... its on my finger.

The ones that gets really irritating is when you've been cut at the joint of your finger.. each time my skin is trying to heal.. you just bend your stupid finger and the wound just splits right up again... Sounds gross, eh ? hahaha...

But honestly, it hurts more than being gross... Guess I've been watching too much Saw etc... Hahaha...

Anyway, I guess being cut just gives me a VERY good reason to buy colored plaster and wrap it daintily around my finger... *wiggles brow and grins*

Which my dearest boyfriend, Mas just thinks I'm being overly dramatic. Even more drama than his lady boss ! And oh trust me, his lady boss is one big drama mama...*roll eyes*

Its like how he would always says, "when you look up the word 'drama' in the dictionary, you can see her picture beside it !"... LOL... so funny, dontcha think ?

Okay, enough skiving off work now... gotta scoot... need to think of some promotions for our products...

Just when I thought I saw a poster at the bus stop eliminating ALL cheena chicks from staying in Singapore or something and was rejoicing inwardly.



I was hit with the realization that its a new drink called "Anything" advertisement poster... *sighs*

Oh yeah... i detest the cheena chicks... Trust me, if I ever works for the government or IRA or whatsoever... they will be the first group of people that I would ban from entering Singapore.

Its not that I'm being mean or something but it just.. they just irks me.. BIG TIME !!!

I mean I have absolutely nothing against the nice individuals but on the whole, i seriously cannot stand them.

The list of reasons why I cannot stand them:

• They have absolutely NO fashion sense
• Just because they speak English (the few that does), they have the notion that English originates from China
• They are just plain hussy
• They have no manners
• No social grace
• No proper etiquette
• Think they are damned gorgeous
• Out to snatch a big catch

Do you know that Steph who has an aunty who owns a company/factory in Qingdao, China withnessed how notorious they get in order to "snag" a catch from Singapore ?!?!?! She actually saw on a few occasion, where a Singaporean couple walked together in the street of Qingdao and OUT OF NOWHERE, a cheena chick's arm will just latched itself onto the husband's arm !!!! OMG !!! in broad daylight, can you absolutely believe that ?!?!?! *scoffs*

And there was another occasion with Hui... she used to work in Louis Vuitton boutique.. and I'm sure you've seen lots of cheena chicks (who thinks that they are damned up-there just cause of a branded bag) hanging out there with their sugar-daddy. Apparently, one of them already "ba-gak" with H a day before she's supposed to shop there with her sugar-daddy on which bag my H should promote to her the next day when she arrives with her sugar-daddy aka lecherous moronic old man who thinks with their reproductive organ.

The list of examples and nasty personal experiences that I've had with them just goes on and on and on....

And seriously, I've yet to see any cheena chicks thats good except prolly my chinese teacher back in my secondary school.

I seriously think they are a menace to the society and it actually disgust me from being in the same environment as them. I couldn't breathe !!!!

DARN... Just talking about them makes my blood boils...
