We were cheated...

The girls and I caught The Simpsons last Friday and we were so excited that they're giving away this free Water Donut Game with each popcorn combo purchased.




Despite being on a diet and all, we went ahead and get 2 sets of such combo (there were 4 of us) and we got 2 games. Tiff and I each brought it home... hehehhee...

We were so ecstatic about it cause it just reminds us of when we were young when you get toys like that manufactured by Fisher-Pricce or Hasbro or something like that...

But lo and behold... it doesn't freaking work !!!! The water leaks !!!! IT LEAKS !!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT ?!?!?!?!

Tiff has threw away hers and I'm still wondering what to do with it... Grrr... what a disappointment !!!!

How suay can you be ?

Imagine, you're all demented and in a nursing home... and next thing you know, you saw this Garfield-lookalike cat (minus the color) and you thought... "awww... how cute is that ?" and the next thing you know, you're dead and soon to be 6 feet under.

How creepy is that ?!?!?! That a cat can be a messenger of Death.

NEW YORK (AFP) - He is a two-year-old cat and looks innocent enough. But at the nursing home where he lives in the US state of Rhode Island, Oscar has developed a reputation as an angel of death.

Since being adopted as a kitten by staff at the advanced dementia unit of Providence's Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Oscar has revealed a rather morbid tendency to pick which patient is going to die next.

According to David Dosa, a geriatrician at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Oscar makes regular rounds, looking in on patients and giving them a quick sniff, before either moving on or settling down for a cuddle.

So accurate have his predictions been, that as soon as the white and tabby harbinger of death curls up with one of the patients, staff immediately start summoning family and clergy to the soon-to-be deathbed.

"No one dies on the third floor unless Oscar pays a visit and stays awhile," Dosa wrote in the New England Journal of Medicine.

"His mere presence at the bedside is viewed by physicians and nursing home staff as an almost absolute indicator of impending death, allowing staff members to adequately notify families," he added.

"Thus far, he has presided over the deaths of more than 25 residents."

Dosa did not offer any explanation for Oscar's uncanny powers of prognostication, which patients were not yet believed to have spotted.

We got him a dog tag after he ran out of the house and got missing for like 30 minutes... nobody knows he went out and took a lift to the 2nd floor... so all of us were searching for him frantically and chanced upon the guard who told us that he's at the 2nd floor...

Apparently what happened was, a couple with a daughter saw him laying there on the ground... they thought he looks cute and wanted to carry him to the guard house and leave it there... but like a smart dog that he is, he growled fiercely and the couple don't dare to carry him but still informed the guards about it... sooo... yeah, we found him on the 2nd floor where he pounced into my arms...

I was very proud of him that he growled and didn't let strangers carry him... I mean how would you feel if you've brought this puppy up since he was like 1 month old and when a stranger tries to carry him, he just flock into their arms ? gutted, right ? I would feel absolutely gutted and prolly send him to SPCA or something... (just kidding !lol)... but on a serious note, I would be deeply gutted and going to put him through intensive owner-pet-friend training... like carrying him to work and hug him to sleep and forbade people saying hi to him etc kinda training :P

So yeah, I'm overly very proud of my dog ! :D

not a plastic bag !!!!!! *hollers*

Yeah... I'm such a slow-poke... I saw Keira Knightley or someone like that carrying the limited edition Anya Hindmarch's bag very very very long time ago... and I thought it looks pretty ordinary though its dirt cheap and it just never... never... NEVER cross my mind to check with the local Anya Hindmarch store to see if they are carrying it into Singapore.

WHAT A BIG DOOFUS I AM !!!!!! *wails*

Now I totally regret not putting my name on the waiting list and all... and I secretly rejoiced when the launch of the bag was cancelled in Singapore... Muahahaha....

Anybody going to Ireland ?!?! Can help me get one back ?!?! Will be eternally grateful.....

Taitai and Tudong...

Nah.. they're not related... lol...

Last Sunday, I saw a girl at McCafe (Shaw) who wears a tudong and SMOKING !!!!! I mean, I doubt I saw the wrong thing cause there was a stream of smoke coming out from her mouth and I tried to take a pic of it but from the place that I was standing at, I just couldn't get a good shot :(

Its so horrible... I don't think they should wear a tudong which is a very religious symbol and do something thats consider very sinful to them. I mean its almost like you catch a nun smoking ! How does that looks like ?!?!?! Awfully sinful, right ????

I mean if they decide to wear the tudong, they should abide the laws of their religion and all. Not like they wear it just for the sake of wearing it, its such a blasphemy !

Tsk tsk tsk....

And oooohhhh.... ya know I'm never totally interested in Birkins till I saw one absolutely absolutely gorgeous shade of Birkin hanging on a taitai's arm, she was a very nice and down-to-earth lady. We talked cause my job requires me to and I was likethisclose to asking her how much she got hers for and how long did she waited. I mean Birkin is not a bag that just cause you got money, you can get it, you gotta bloody wait for it too, man ! Geez... But IF I have the kind of money and there is THAT particular shade available, I wouldn't mind waiting...Hehehe... It was a shade of dark chocolate which I find it absolutely gorgeous and classy.

I can just imagine THAT shade of Birkin on my arms and I'll be wearing Chanel gladiator sandals (hopefully they have it in dark brown) with a crisp white linen shirt and some simple khakis and a big sunglasses that covers 1/2 of my face. LOL... and oh yeah, with my hair tied up and loose strands falling down in a very messy-but-cool way. *smiles dreamily*

I cannot help it, I have this thing for bags... I'm a bag person, not a shoe person... So pardon moi...

Hair growth

I'm sure everybody heard that your hair grow for approximately 2.5cm every month.. or something around 2cm...

And I can vouched that it DOES happen cause it happened to mine last night !!!!

Yesterday, I can safely and honestly said that the length of my bangs/fringe is still the same as the day that I've cut it and today when I woke up, its 2cm longer !!!!

Before this morning, my bangs/fringe is say... slight touched my eyebrow and today when I woke up, combed my hair and all before I left for work, I realized that my bangs/fringe has touched my eyelid !!!! Hence, that means that it grew last night !!!

Wow ! I mean can you imagine that ?!?!? I wonder how does it look like when hair grows... If you fast-forward it, I mean... I think you can practically see it grow or something like that...

I told Mas about it, but he just laughed it off and said it doesn't happen overnight but gradually.. But still, I'm convinced that it happened overnight.

Seriously ! No Kidding !

My delusional friend

Yes, I do have a delusional friend, her name is Tiffeny Kua. Tiffeny with an E and not an A !!! So it was NOT a spelling error !!!!

So anyway I got an email from her last Sunday too I think, I bet I was taking a picture of the maid doing pedicures while she sent me this mail.. LOL...

So anyway she's my evil twin sister, we found each other after 20 years. Though we look nothing alike (her mom's a Brit), we are very alike in our crappiness and taste in shopping ! hehehe...

So back to the mail, she sent me a mail telling Sheeli and I what she's gonna get us as present in the future (I hope a near one, Tiff !!!!! Cause I heard you just got a raise recently!!! And when I say near, I mean like Christmas'07 kinda near !!!!... hehehe)

She even named the pictures as "Hermes Bracelet for Sid" and "Hermes Bracelet for Sheeli" respectively. LOL... And she's gonna get the pink one for me !!! *squeals in delight*

How do you handle stress ?

Definitely NOT like the following story:

OMG ! Could you just imagine that ?!?!?! I mean imagine if you're the patient ! You're supposed to go in to have a surgery that will benefit or cure you of whatever problem you have but in the end, when you woke up... another doctor broke the news to you that your penis have been SEVERED and after your heart dropped a thousand miles, you plucked up the courage to ask the doctor whether can it be stitch back or something, the same doctor said, "I'm sorry, Sir... but your penis have been sliced and chopped up"... Geez, I wouldn't know how to handle a situation like that man ! I mean IF I'm a guy.

If its me, I would prolly die or commit suicide or something... You would too, wouldn't you ?

Pedicure, anyone ?

I was walking along town last Sunday when I saw something that made me stopped in mid-track and JUST have to u-turn around and take below picture secretly.



I took it kinda sneakily and far away, hence the re-sizing which result in a picture that's not very clear but you can still see what I'm talking about.

I mean geez... what the heck ?! Who the hell do pedicures at the road side ? And an amateur at it ! I don't even know whether did she sanitize her tools or not. How gross is that ?!?!?!

And seriously, such scene can only be seen during National Maid's Day aka Every Sunday. It's like an excursion every Sunday along Orchard Road where you get to see wierd things being done by maids that will leave you totally flabbergasted. My friend once saw them playing beach volleyball on the grass which is now being developed into Orchard Residences (the mini hillside beside Wisma Atria) and the volleyball that we're talking about is not a proper volleyball but those plastic-rubbery beach balls that you have to inflate it and it comes in stripes of white/green/red and blue. LOL...

Well, that's National Maid's Day for ya !

Highschool Musical...

...IS THE MOST BORING KIDDY MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN !!!!!!!!!

OMG!!!! OMG!!!! OMG!!!!

We didn't continue our monopoly game and decided to watch DVD instead, the girls rented Highschool Musical and we decided to watch it and find out whats the hype about this whole thing. Cause apparently, it seems that its very popular with the kids.

And trust me when I said it is the most boring kiddy movie I've ever seen, man !!!!

The lead actor is ugly... the girl is ugly too... And it has a corny plot and supporting cast...

I doubt I would actually like it even when I was a kid, geez... its really very bad and boring...

Monopoly !!!!

Oooohhh yeah !!!!

We're having a monopoly night tonight and the girls said my hair is nice !!! hehehe... guess I didn't waste my money afterall :P

There's a snowflake in my bathroom ! *gasps*

I was taking a hot shower the other day and by random, I just looked up the glass and I saw a huge snowflake there ! *gasps*

Though not the actual snowflake but it was condensation in the pattern of a snowflake and I'm seriously not kidding !

I'm seriously NOT kidding, I've got a pic to prove that it does exist !!! I was chuckling to myself one morning when I was there to buy breakfast + lunch and I saw it, couldn't resist not taking a picture of it and posting it here.

Adopt a kid ! Sorta.... :P

Mas and I are going to sponsor a kid. We have not decided on a kid yet but we are most prolly going to, I think.

Cause it only cost you like $45 bucks a month to sponsor a kid and their family but the focus is on the kid that you're sponsoring. So between the 2 of us, its only $22.50 each.

I mean whats $22.50 to us ?! I know it made us sound very arrogant but seriously... For me, having dinner with Tiff and Sheeli already cost me like between $20 - $25 and whats that for ? Its just dinner !!!!

But for the kid that we're going to sponsor, its gonna be a month's worth of school fees, food, healthcare fees etc... I mean hell, in Singapore we get everything for free or dirt cheap and we're so well taken care of. We have healthcare benefits, we have food to eat, we have clothes to wear... and we just take everything for granted.

But for the kids, its nothing... they don't enjoy anything like that.

Tracey and her husband, Jeremy sponsored a kid from Guatanmela (or something like that) and the agency sent them photo of the kid each year on her birthday and I think they only get to dressed up once a year just for the photo-shoot. Cause the photo that Tracey showed me, her kid is like wearing a pair of shoes too big for her feet which she told us that prolly she don't have any shoes and somebody just lend her the big pair of shoes for the photo-taking. How poor thing is that ?

I have to find out how long do we have to commit though, I mean till how old the kid gets and stuffs but ya know, if you think about it the other way round. You are doing something good and prolly its something small, but you still are able to change the world and somebody's lives. So why not ?

Do a bit of charity, cause even though you don't see it, at least you know that you're doing something good and that feels good !

I've got bangs !!!!

Okay before I start, I think i should let everybody knows about the situation of my hair...

I've got natural waves in my hair... Its not super-duper curly but its wavy.. that makes my fringe looks like the McDonald's logo if I let it down.

I've tried heat-activated straightening cream from L'Oreal and just normal blow-dry it straight for like 30 minute sand when I walked out of the house, within 10 minutes I will go back to being Miss McDonalds and Miss Frizz ! Damned gross, right ?!?!?!

Cause of the state of my hair, I cannot cut it short into a bob style either cause I would look like a mushroom head. Hence, my hair is always in a ponytail... sometimes bun...ponytail....bun... (you get the idea *sighs*)

So finally, I've got it straightened out by using this technique call Extenso (IF I spell it correctly) and cut it. So now I've got bangs !!!! :D

Mas said I look like an Egyptian !!! lol....

I can't wait to show Tiff and Sheeli about it too !!! Hehehe....

Animal Suicides + Accents

Have you ever wonder if animals have different accents just like us humans ? So that it will make it easier for them to differentiate from each other ?

I mean... does the birds born in Singapore despise those birds that are from China cause they steal their hubbies too ? Hehehehe ....

Just imagine, a china bird flew by the nest and stand at the edge of the nest... Saw the hubby bird from Singapore and starts to chirp in a heavy cheena accent, "chirp chirp, chirppppyy chirp ?" (how are you, Mister ?) and starts batting her fake eyelashes while the Singapore mother bird is out of the nest (in search of food).

Then when the mother bird comes back and see the cheena bird making her move by extending a wing and puts it on the husband bird's shoulder... ALL hell break loose ! And you get to see bird fights !!!!

That's what I normally thinks when I see two birds fighting on the street... the Singapore bird is wacking the living daylights out of the cheena bird... and when the cheena bird lose, she will just fly away VERY haughtily, as if she got all the rights in the world to be haughty in the first place. *puiz*

Animal Suicides and Daredevils...

Lately, I've noticed when Mas is driving that there will be birds like on the road and all.... and they will not fly away till like the last last last minute and you can practically see their wings touch the bumper of the car or something... And each time something like that happen, my heart would stop beating for a second cause we don't want to run the bird over...

And it seems like its not just that single bird but a lot of birds are getting more and more daring.. I remember when I was young in my Dad's car... a faint glimpse of headlight is enough to scare the birds away but definitely not the case now.

I remembered one day while Mas was turning down the spiral bits of the carpark... there were this two birds.. those typical small brown birds that's all over Singapore. Bird #1 was like in the center of the road and Bird #2 was like following it around... So when the car is very near, Bird #2 was like shushing Bird #1 to the side of the road... and when our car passed... Bird #1 went back to the center of the road !

I was like .... "Hey Babe ! Did you see that just now ??!?!?! The two birds were quarelling and I bet the one in the center of the road was the female bird cause she was attempting suicide and the one coaxing her out of it was her boyfriend... I mean looked at that ! She must be real upset to jump back into the center of the road after we've passed !" and got all excited about it...

Mas just paused and hummed in agreement (I think just to entertain me before I start yakking more about it)...

But after phenomenon cases of beached whales, one must think that animals DO contemplate suicides right ?

The Fastest Day of My Life

OMG... I seriously cannot believe how fast I was last night....

I chomped down my Kolong Mee at VivoCity in 5 minutes flat and I peed within like 20 seconds or something.

And ALL for the sake of TRANSFORMERS !

YES ! You didn't read the wrong thing... Mas and I were late for our movie, sorta... So we have to rush through everything and the queue to collect our tickets were so long too that we just have to run up GV Max Room 1 and then peek and see if the show has started already or not before running to the ladies and run back...

Sat there panting like a dog while watching trailer of Die Hard 4.0 (next movie to watch !)...

I mean seriously, I've NEVER worked so hard for a movie before.... I mean a bowl of noodles in 5 minutes ?!?!?!?! Geez... I take near to an hr to finish my porridge man ! Much less say a bowl of noodle....

But ya know what ?! ALL of it were totally totally TOTALLY WORTH IT !!!!

The movie was sooooooooooooo goddamned cool !!! Its the 2nd best movie I've seen this year, the first being 300. Which I totally love the part where Leonidas goes, "SPARTANS !!! WHAT ARE YOUR PROFESSIONS ??????"

I was sooooooooo excited and soooooooo relieve that they talk in the movie ! Cause I was quite afraid that they don't talk cause they don't seem to be talking in the trailer.

And while watching the movie, it just bring back the rush of a childhood crush on Optimus Prime... hehehee... Ain't he cute and oh-so-cool ?!?!?!

I especially love the part where they will all leap into the air and just transforms like that... it just leave my mouth gaping...

Told Tiff about my idea of going to Toys R Us and see if they sell any Transformers T-Shirt so I can buy and wear when I go and watch Transformers and Tiff said she's gonna get the toys and put it at home... She likes Megatron cause to her, he looks cute...

I do like one of the other bad-guys though.. The helicopter one... Thats cool too...

I do hope the success of this movie will prompt them into making a sequel of it, I will DEFINITELY watch it...

Seriously don't mind watching it again...
